Munich Airport is thrilled with the positive response to its first culinary festival, “Food & Style,” which took place from August 12-14, 2016. Approximately 50,000 visitors have feasted on the latest gourmet trends during this three-day event and had a chance to watch star chefs during live-cooking sessions. In total 38 regional and international stands catered to visitors from their food trucks. “The feedback we got was so positive from all sides and has surpassed our expectations that we will continue this new event format,” commented Markus Preiss, Team Leader Marketing Commercial Activities.
Munich Airport was spicing up the summer with delicious flavors for the whole family. At the inaugural Food & Style event, visitors could enjoy regional specialties and dishes from around the world while watching professional chefs display their skills live on stage. The gourmet event Food & Style was hosted by Munich Airport in cooperation with eat&STYLE – Germany’s biggest food festival – and the local radio station Charivari.
For foodies and hobby chefs, a dream had come true. The marketplace stands featured selected local growers and artisanal producers offered regional favorites and exciting new tastes and combinations, ranging from low-carb mueslis and samples of Jamaican cuisine to Allgäu honey from the wildflower meadows of the Alpine foothills.
In the food truck court, the gourmet kitchens on wheels offered a wide selection of burgers, wraps, and tacos as well as sweet treats – all at very reasonable prices. At the daily live cooking demonstrations on the stage, visitors got a close-up look at star chefs and popular TV personalities demonstrating their cooking skills.
Every evening during Food & Style, the German-Egyptian musician Sharyhan Osman enchanted the public with her unique blend of soul, pop and jazz.
